Help in Coventry with measuring for your blinds
At Ball Hill Blinds we provide an expert measuring and fitting service. However, if you wish to measure your blinds
yourself, we can provide friendly help and advice.
If you are measuring inside the window recess, measure wall to wall in three places for the width and drop. If you are measuring outside the recess, measure width and drop in three places and decide how much overlap is required.
If measuring for replacement louvres then measure the length of your louvre from the top to the bottom of the fabric, count how many slats you require and note whether they are 89mm or 127mm wide.
Velux blinds
are easy. Locate the metal tab on the window frame and make a note of the numbers/letters stamped onto it. That's all we need to make a Velux blind for you.
When measuring up, remember:
- Use a steel tape measure
- Measure dimensions in three places
- Check for obstructions / clearances
- Always double check
- Measure where the blind will be fitted
- Give us a call if you are unsure
If you are coming to our shop to order replacement louvres, we recommend you bring one louvre with you. It is a good idea to note any obstructions i.e. handles, dado rails etc. when making a record of your measurements.
